Announcements and Important Events
As sad as this situation has been for our athletes and students, it is important that we keep in mind that the first priority will always be their safety. As a result of the governors' restrictions, we are very limited in what we can do prior to July 1st. While the community begins to realign its normal practices, we have chosen to move facility maintenance up to try to have it done early with the hopes that we may be able to utilize some part of July for rebuilding our athletics. A number of things are currently scheduled for June:
- Floor repairs and refinishing
- Old Gym structural repair and refurbishment
- Weight Room clean-up, remodeling, and replenishment
- Main Gym maintenance and repairs
- Improvement of storage solutions
- Improvements to score system and announcer stand
Since we would be limited to only a few athletes at time, we decided it would be best to rearrange our timeline. Normally, the majority of these items would be completed in July. While we know this creates a temporary inconvenience, it will help our student/athletes have improved success in the future. The need to maintain social distancing rules and continue safe reintegration is our first priority. It also improves our chances of our plan being viable in creating healthier Fall/Winter Sports.
What does this really mean? It means the Gyms and weight room will be closed until at least July. Fortunately, the Cascade Rec Center is now open for business and there are a variety of ways to access it. Memberships are very inexpensive and scholarships are available. Contact the Cascade Rec Center for more information. (208) 382-5136
Our coaches and athletic programs will be reaching out to atletes very soon! We miss you and want to keep you excited about the future!
